Press Ons???- Apres Gel X Dupe

side hustle

Recently I saw a post on Instagram about Gel-X nails. Funny thing, this system has been out since 2017!! Celebrities, including Ariana Grande rave about this system. It looked super easy and the nails looked amazing, so I decided to try it.

Then I saw the price. $140 ??

So browsing YouTube I saw a video about a alternative way to do it.

God was on my side lol!!! And I didn’t have to spend any money because I had all the products. And if you do your own nails you will too!!

So this was win win!!!!

This is what you’ll need:

Nail Gel: https://amzn.to/2H2t9XK

Rhinestones: https://amzn.to/2H12XMY

EC basket nail tips coffin: https://amzn.to/2Xm1U4M

EC basket nail tips Ballerina: https://amzn.to/300YJfI

Gelish Pro bond: https://amzn.to/2XyS7rj

Gelish Ph bond: https://amzn.to/2RHuZBk

Gorilla glue: https://amzn.to/2Nn6gny

Cuticle oil: https://amzn.to/2FG6boE

Nail file: https://amzn.to/2xmuuDp

Step 1:

Prepare your nails like you would for an acrylic or polygel set.

Then use your preferred ph bond. I use Gelish

Then dehydrate your nails using your preferred primer. I use Gelish as well.

Step 2:

Coat nail lightly with bling gel, builder gel, or base coat. I used bling gel for this set but I’ve heard base coat works just as good.

Step 3:

Cure for 60 seconds

Step 4:

You can actually do this before you prep your nails. Buff the inside of the nail tip. I don’t have an e-file so I bent a cheap nail file.

Step 5:

Place gel at the base of nail tip. You’ll have to do this a couple of times before you figure out the right gel ratio.

Step 6:

Hold the nail at a 45 degree angle and press the nail firmly into natural nail. Make sure there are no air bubbles. This is very important.

Step 7:

While holding the nail flash cure for 10 seconds. This is the most difficult part.

Some use a portable UV nail light like this. Or you can have someone hold the light for you.

Then full cure for 60 seconds.

Flawless!!!! No bubbles!!!!

Step 7:

File and Buff

Step 8:

Paint and Design. I used a glitter gel polish from Gelish and on the other nails, a glitter from my local beauty supply.

Step 9:

Top coat and apply cuticle oil. This is a diy oil I made with equal parts

  • Jojoba Oil
  • Olive oil
  • Vitamin E
  • 2 drops of tea tree oil

I love this set. And the more I practice the better I’ll get. It’s so much easier than polygel and acrylics.

Annddddd less damage to your natural nails.
