What is a Prop Firm?

According to Wikipedia, a prop firm (also known as “prop trading”) occurs when a trader trades stocks, bonds, currencies, commodities, their derivatives, or other financial instruments with the firm’s own money, aka the nostro account, contrary to depositors’ money, in order to make a profit for itself

What is an evaluation?

The evaluation also known as a trading challenge, is the ‘test’ you must pass to become a funded trader. Each company has different rules you must follow to pass but all have a profit target you must reach by a certain time.

For example, with OspreyFX, you can choose a $25K, $50K, or $100K account. You have two phases. Phase 1 is the “demo stage” you have 30 days to profit 10%, with a minimum of 10 trading days. Phase 2 you’ll prove yourself one more time, and once you pass you’ll be a fully funded trader.
